There and Back Again – A Flying Trapeze Workshop

With Patrick Sullivan

There and Back Again: A Catch & Return Tale is a workshop dedicated to one of the most rewarding and challenging parts of flying trapeze: the complete catch-and-return. Designed for flyers who are already comfortable with catches or are actively working toward them, this workshop focuses on the skills, timing, and confidence needed to make the full journey from the board to the catcher and back again safely.

Together we’ll explore:

  • Building stronger, more consistent catch positions
  • Timing and communication with the catcher
  • Returning to the bar with confidence and control
  • In-lines and out-of-lines return techniques
  • Efficient body positions that make catches and returns feel effortless
  • Drills and progressions to improve consistency and success rates

Whether you’re working on your first return, refining advanced return skills, or looking to increase your catch percentage, this workshop offers focused training and plenty of opportunities to put the pieces together.

Like any great adventure, the goal isn’t just getting there—it’s making it back again.
